Another week of binging Netflix and putting off that project you said you would start two weeks ago? No! This week is going to be different, because this week you’re going to actually do something to better your life. Here are the top three things you need to do this week for a better life (we’ll even help you keep it simple).
If you want to improve your life, you need to start taking care of your body. That means regular exercise, eating healthy, and getting enough sleep. But we’ll focus on exercise for now. Joining a gym is a great way to motivate yourself to work out regularly, but it’s not the only way. You can also start working out at home, or even just go for regular walks or runs around your neighborhood. The important thing is that you get started and stick with it.
Keep It Simple:
1. Stretch and take a 5-10 minute walk to loosen up
2. 15 crunches
3. 15 pushups
4. 15 squats
5. 15 leg raises
6. Rest for 2 minutes
7. Repeat Steps 2-6 two more times
A cluttered environment can lead to a cluttered mind. If you want to be more productive and feel more relaxed, declutter your space. This could mean doing a deep clean of your entire house (or at least one room), or simply getting rid of the pile of paperwork on your desk. When everything has its place, you’ll feel calmer and more in control.
Keep it Simple:
1. Grab two boxes and a trash bag
2. Choose a room (or your desk) and fill up the trash bag
3. Fill one box with things that belong somewhere else
4. Fill the second box with things you can sell or give away
5. Throw away the trash and deal with the items in the two boxes.
6. Return and repeat the process until there’s a place for everything and everything is in its place.
7. Celebrate your achievement!
Humans are social creatures, so it’s important to have strong relationships in our lives. This week, reach out to some friends or family members that you haven’t talked to in a while. Set up a coffee date, have a picnic in the park, or just call them on the phone. We all need someone to talk to, so don’t be afraid to reach out and connect with others.
Keep it Simple:
1. Search YouTube or Social Media for “heartwarming” or some other sentimental statement.
2. Take a few minutes and find something moving.
3. DM, Share or post it to a friend or loved one’s feed.
4. Write a short note letting them know you read/saw it and thought of them.
5. Ask how they are doing or how their day is going.
6. Start a conversation.
This week is the perfect opportunity to start making some positive changes in your life. Join a gym (or just start exercising), declutter your home (or just your desk), and connect with friends (or family). These are all small changes that can make a big difference in how you feel day to day. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and make it happen!
